5 shoes to help you transition from spring to summer

The last couple of weeks have got me feeling well and truly excited about the summer, and its at this time of year that the question 'right what shoes should I wear with this?' pops up even more so. Now assuming your wardrobe is slightly lighter now with your roll necks neatly tucked into the back of your wardrobe what you're wearing doesn't necessarily match the shoes - there is no way boots are going to cut it with this new spring outfit or weather I hear you say - so to help you out with this small and easily rectifiable situation I have brought together a selection of footwear that will help you easily transition from spring to summer so you are feeling perfectly fitted out for when we have those slightly cooler days that aren't quite spring or summer. The best thing to come out of this particular cycle of fashion is the humble slider/slider mule. Now they may  take a little time to get used to but I'm sure you're going to love them. They're totally perfect as transition pieces as they don't totally cover up your foot and leave your ankles and heels revealed - basically the happy medium between being cold and warm or in-between spring and summer, they aren't quite summer sandals or spring ballet pumps! AWESOME! So here it is my must have slider collection for transitioning into spring and summer.

Alexander Wang £425

Sam Edelman £115

Lanvin £755

Topshop £56

Kiren Modi X Megan Sophia

So last week Megan and I had a super productive couple of days working on our collaboration. We finalised the bead selection and the designs we are working on. WOOHOO! So this week was all about the production. The bead work, understandably takes a little while to do so Megan made an early start with sample ideas and I carried on with making sure the pattern fitted snug onto the foot. Without giving too much away the outcome is looking pretty spot on to what we both visualised. Megan has also introduced me to the most amazing trimming store in Soho which I can't get enough of so Im pretty sure i'll be heading there more often too. Now the pics don't give too much away as we want to keep that a little secret until we launch so for now above is one of the sample embellishments Megan has been working on along with some of the colour ways we have decided to work with! Enjoy! :)
Handmade Sliders X 2

So this week I have been keeping busy, I have managed to finish off two pairs of shoes, a pair I started a week ago and a pair i started a couple months back that I never had the chance to finish off. I love them both! One thing is for sure I'm improving and learning new tricks as I make more and more shoes, which is great and a fab new shoedrobe too - wooop! Since we've been having a wonderful couple days these sliders I'm sure will see a few days out before we hit Autumn. The next few pictures show my last few steps for the tassel sliders and the completed gold acid splash leather sliders.

Handmade Leather Slider Update

so last week i promised a post on Monday, but lets just put it this way it was my sisters birthday on Sunday and there was lots of alcohol - enough said, so I apologise for the lateness. Todays post (I hope delivers!) shows the rest of my slider process and the almost finished pair of shoes. Enjoy!

Gold Acid Splash Leather Sliders

So I've embarked upon this weeks shoe making project with some trouble simply because sometimes i have to wear flats but i love designing and making high heels. So designing and sketching became challenge especially when the profile of the design is so different. I have decided to go for sliders, since they are so in at the moment, and have also opted for thick straps that cross over because the leather is a such a shoe off piece. I have only got as far as designing and making patterns for this project and since this is a simple design Im hoping to have this made and finished by Thursday so stay tuned for the finished pair for Mondays post!

AHAAS

This new shoe label from Paris is a new favourite of mine, I came across it a couple days ago and I just love it! The styles offer comfort and coolness and have a real Parisian Chic look for a modern yet urban woman. Ive totally warmed to flats, and these comfy delights are a fantastic option for casual wear even though they are in the slightly more luxe end of fashion. Ahaas short for An hour and A shower launched in 2015 with Dorothee Loerman and Antoine Thieser as the creative directors. They're stocked in Tokyo, Paris and New York and have a bright future ahead of them especially while flats and sliders are still ruling the runway.

why I have a love hate relationship with Tassels

Last week I set out to do a 10 day trial course to see what I'd be able to design and make. There have been a few hiccups along the way, and now that the 2 weeks are over (well the 10 working days I had planned) I have come to realise that Modeling and running a startup business are HUGE distractions (I mean who was I kidding? where was I going to find 10 whole days to work on footwear straight?)  All in all if I were to add up all the hours I have actually worked on this trial collection the grand total would be 4 days, so technically speaking I have 6 days left of the course. (haaaa looking at me trying to find the silver lining) However the 4 days I have spent on the course has annoyingly gone to making TASSELS, who'd have thought it? Now they are time consuming little things, that are an absolute annoyance to make but once they are made you are overcome with joy because they just look so pretty, hence the love hate relationship I'm currently having with them. So with that said, heres a little photo diary of how they are looking so far!

Chanel Cruise Collection '17

Now this was spectacle not to be missed, karl Lagerfeld presented Chanels Cruise collection in Havana Cuba amongst fashions' elite, vintage cars and locals, I JUST LOVED IT! After my carribean escape in March I have been OBSESSED with the island life style, weather, food and culture. I was in awe watching footage and images from the show and it really took me back to my holiday (the holiday blues quickly set in aferwards - boooo!) The collection was something I really related to, I've always enjoyed watching the extravagance of the Chanel shows and completely appreciated the garments but in previous shows some of the clothing I couldn't quite see my self in, but this collection had a number of pieces that I could definitely wear in the summer. Their accessories have always been something I've loved, I mean who doesn't love a quilted Chanel bag or canvas espadrilles? The accessories  really stood out to me in this collection, lots of sliders and mid heel footwear, along with pretty heeled sandals completed all of the beautiful ensembles. Below are a few of my favourite looks.
