Jamie Okuma

So the 10 day challenge is going really well, I'm really happy with the way the designs and patterns are turning out and its really nice to be spending so much time at the studio, but today since its the bank holiday I thought I'd take the time out to talk about Jamie Okuma. The thing I love most about shoe making is the process, I always think the longer the process the more care that is taken over them and this couldn't ring more true with Jamie Okumas work on these amazing hand beaded boots. These aren't the only shoes she has worked on, she has a range of footwear with the beading embelished, taking inspiration from the native indian culture. The beading work is exquisite and is such a great skill to have along with bags of patience. Head over to her website and instagram for more on all the projects she has worked on /working on!

Esteban Cortazar

Fashion month is over, and it finished with a blast! With my eye on the shoes through out the shows I came across some extravagant beauties, but these Esteban Cortazar platforms caught my eye and stayed with me, which is why they have been crowned shoe of the week! I've always loved embellishment and especially on shoes to add that little bit of sparkle everyone needs to brighten up their day! The colour palette for the shoes matched the collection and completed the whole collection beautifully. I'll be the first person to admit that I hadn't heard of this designer before, so scrolling through all the shows really paid off as I wouldn't have found this gem of a designer. I'm totally mesmerised by these shiny sparkly numbers!

Manish Arora

Watching the Manish Arora runway show always makes me proud, and even more so on a runway in Paris. His shows are always colourfully magical and definitely highlight parts of his heritage. His shoes follow suit. They compliment the collection beautifully and stand alone as great statement heels too which is why he is so good at what he does. With black always a statement in many women wardrobes, Arora injects that bold amount of colour that is always needed. This seasons collection is just what you might need for next summers wardrobe.

Shoe of the Week
(....all the way from Paris Fashion Week)

Dries Van Noten

Only a couple days into Paris Fashion Week I have already found my new favourite brand, Dries Van Noten. Through keeping up to date with the last few days of shows this particular design house has really caught my eye. This seasons collection is absolutely beautiful and completely under pins this seasons theme. Luxurious fabrics with appliqué, embroidery and intricate detailing with sequins and beading. So you can imagine the shoes were just as much of a delight to look at. Appliqué, bright bold satins and silks on platforms were all the rage in this collection with a few sandals dotted in to. Next season  has revolved around platforms, strap sandals and sliders (fantastic - we can save our feet for another summer).  A wholesome collection thats totally got me excited for summer next year.
