5 shoes to help you transition from spring to summer

The last couple of weeks have got me feeling well and truly excited about the summer, and its at this time of year that the question 'right what shoes should I wear with this?' pops up even more so. Now assuming your wardrobe is slightly lighter now with your roll necks neatly tucked into the back of your wardrobe what you're wearing doesn't necessarily match the shoes - there is no way boots are going to cut it with this new spring outfit or weather I hear you say - so to help you out with this small and easily rectifiable situation I have brought together a selection of footwear that will help you easily transition from spring to summer so you are feeling perfectly fitted out for when we have those slightly cooler days that aren't quite spring or summer. The best thing to come out of this particular cycle of fashion is the humble slider/slider mule. Now they may  take a little time to get used to but I'm sure you're going to love them. They're totally perfect as transition pieces as they don't totally cover up your foot and leave your ankles and heels revealed - basically the happy medium between being cold and warm or in-between spring and summer, they aren't quite summer sandals or spring ballet pumps! AWESOME! So here it is my must have slider collection for transitioning into spring and summer.

5 boots to get you through the cold

If like me the cold weather is something you do everything to stay away from - leggings under jeans, vest tops, thermals, doubling up on jumpers, thick coat, scarf and finally a pom pom hat then boots must be a staple in your shoe closet for the cold months. Today I round up 5 boots that will help you get through the blistering cold - some that may be a splurge and some that you could probably get away with buying in every colour!

Best of New York Fashion Week (so far)

With London Fashion Week setting to kick off this week I have decided to round up the best of NYFWs footwear (so far). Its safe to say everything is still about tassels, fringing, weaving and flats - LOTS of flats! other great trends to look out for like flatforms, sliders and sports luxe footwear are totally effective for the summer wardrobe look. Like most fashion it goes in cycles, and since the summer just gone was all about flower power and the 70s its only natural that the next cycle will be all about the boho chic look with tassels taking over! The tassel trend in my eyes never gets old, I like to incorporate my wardrobe with classic tasseled accessories (handbags and shoes mostly) because along with most summers comes festivals which inevitably means tassel galore - I mean no festival/summer is complete without them! below are some of my favourite footwear shots straight from the runway!

Key Trends:

Flats - lots of different toe caps although pointed dominated. Victoria Beckham along with Derek Lam introduced a square toe which were beautiful with their respective collections.

Flatforms and Sliders - EVERYWHERE! easy to wear and perfect in block colours, sports luxe is what it is all about or if you have a more subtle look a pair of very minimal sandals (skinny T-bars and straps)

Heels - stiletto heels, with and espadrille look  laces up featured heavily of which I'm pleased about!

Standouts - Alexander Wang! a 'dark' take on the summer, lots of black with rounded studs (when does he ever get it wrong?) Givenchy - they have to be mentioned just for the fact that they caused a huge commotion on the runway for some of the models - untied/super long laces was the feature and boy did it cause some havoc! Nicholas K - The collection has a great colour pallet and this reflected in the runway - footwear mostly focusing on sports luxe sandals which were just gorge! Tanya Taylor - absolutely amazing range of shoes, love the acrylic heel and the appliqué/colour ways on the skinny straps!
