5 boots to get you through the cold

If like me the cold weather is something you do everything to stay away from - leggings under jeans, vest tops, thermals, doubling up on jumpers, thick coat, scarf and finally a pom pom hat then boots must be a staple in your shoe closet for the cold months. Today I round up 5 boots that will help you get through the blistering cold - some that may be a splurge and some that you could probably get away with buying in every colour!

DAY 1 Down Town Washington

Yesterday was Awesome, it was our first day in Washington. We are staying in the Reston area so we took a short subway journey (I'm an American already ha!) to Foggy Bottom Hill - interesting name I know, and walked straight to the Lincoln Memorial. The memorial was phenomenal to look at just because its bloody HUGE! It just brought back the millions of movie scenes that I had seen this shot in, from the memorial you were able to see the George Washington commemoration - the monument, another image seen regularly in movies. As you can see, most of the sight seeing felt like I was being dropped in and out of different movies, the topper? the weather, it was 90 farenheit! the only thing that felt slightly different was the hustle and bustle of a regular day in downtown Washington. Since we decided to do all the tourist locations on a Sunday (because its less busy) it was devoid of any city workers. After seeing the White House (which was slightly underwhelming to be quite honest, I've seen bigger houses in Buckhurst Hill! ok slight exaggeration but it wasn't as big as you imagine!) and various other tourist hotspots mum and I headed for the shops down Gee Street. The stores were amazing, just because of their size, so much choice and styles, though you have to remember style inspo differs from America and the UK. The city is beautiful, I can't to see more of through out the week. Follow me on snapchat for more live up dates: kirennmodi

Fashion for Relief - Naomi Campbell

To kick off London Fashion Week this season, tonight I will be attending Naomi Campbells Fashion for Relief event, (I have some amazing friends that sorted out the tickets) To say I’m excited is an understatement, and I’d be lying if I said I only picked out my outfit today - I have been thinking about the outfit ever since my good friend told me I was going. Aside from it being such a great cause I figured the fashion elite will no doubt pull out all the stops when it comes to being impecably dressed for the occassion.

I started with a new pastel pink, oversized cable knit, roll neck jumper that I haven't got around to wearing, and because of the dreary weather knew that a pair of jeans were in order, so out came the ripped boyfriend fit jeans. The challenge as usuall was picking out the shoes, I figured the rain would wipe out a lot of my open toe choices, which it did and so I was down to two pairs, a pair of suede cobalt blue pointy courts, or another pair of suede shoes, with a red point toe cap. (both not great for the rain but the only shoes that I own that were partially closed and matched the outfit)
