London Fashion Week Men's 

Friday - Monday (if you didn't know already) made way for London Fashion Week Mens a time I think is a very important and exciting addition to the Fashion Industry. The last few years have certainly seen the mens fashion sector pick up speed to a pace that definitely should be as well documented as ladies fashion. With the rise of the fashion conscious man this seasons fashion shows certainly impressed not only in the clothing department but the footwear department too, much like fashion these days what was pretty obvious is the ever closing gap between - 'is that mens wear of womenswear?' and I love it. This couldn't have been more evident on the streets of London, street-style is the best way to see which way fashion is going and fashion week is often the platform for fashion enthusiasts, designers and bloggers to express that. Footwear highlighted just how versatile the cross over from mens to women's fashion can do this, not only as statement piece but combined with some very dare i say the word 'funky' socks, tights and leggings. Now I have never been a huge fan of this sock and open toe shoe duo but recently the combinations/pairings I have seen on the street has really started to grow on me. So with that said here are some of the stand out pieces i spotted from social media, the runway and on the streets!

2 for 1 Book Review

With the festivities and travelling I totally got behind with writing my book reviews. I totally completed my last two books for the year which were both fantastic and compelling. I do love a inspiring book and just as much love a psychology which to put in a nutshell were exactly the genre of books I read. So here goes. Book review one and two!

This book has to be one of the most thought provoking books I've read and most applicable techniques to apply to daily life. For someone like me; highly gullible and trusts everyone (much to my detriment) this book has become an almost life line, especially since my current endeavour with footwear will see me going through a number of the examples mentioned in this book. For any of you  thinking of staring a business this is a must read! Word of warning (though) the techniques in this book don't only help you with business it uses examples in daily life too so you may become more aware of those around you doing just as much fibbing in personal life along with career goals, as the saying goes you can't unknow what you already know, you cant unlearn what you have already learnt.

A Year of Yes

I have been a huge fan of Shonda Rhimes since I first watched Greys Anatomy, which was around 4 years ago, yes i'm late to the Greys Anatomy fan club, but once I set my eyes on it I was hooked and mostly because it was my vice in the first year of my Dad passing away it seemed like my therapy. Then came Scandal which I became obsessed with and then of course How To Get Away with Murder. Im aware by now that I'm totally addicted to tv series and I have convinced myself that there is nothing wrong with that especially when they are all written by Shonda Rhimes. This book is a little snippet of Rhimes life that documents her year of saying yes to any opportunity that came her way. Unravelling some of the situation she wound up in simply for saying yes and the ripple effect it has had on her life following is seriously inspiring and encouraging especially if you are feeling stuck in rut - try saying yes to the next opportunity that lands in your lap and see where it will take it i'm pretty sure it will change your life in ways you weren't expecting.

A year ago I modelled in a fashion show which exhibited the finest in Indian wedding attire, which is where I met Megan, little did I know that a whole year later (weirdly to the day) we would meet up to collaborate on something pretty special. Megan - the queen of embellishing has kindly offered up her talent and time to add that little something special on a few up and coming projects. First up a pair of shoes, of which we have both started to design. Excited is an understatement I have been eager to get my teeth into a new project and learn a new skill and this must be it! I've always loved embellishment, whether its on footwear or clothing - it just adds luxury and intrigue, like how on earth have the beads been stitched on? and I wonder how long thats taken to do? I guess all my questions will soon be answered, I can't wait to start working with Megan on this project - keep your eyes peeled. For now here are some of the ideas we have been playing around with and most importantly some of Megan's beautiful work.

Aquazzura launches a Mini line!

Up there in my top 5 footwear brands, Aquazzura has always impressed me and they've done it again launching a 'mini' line. They're just ADORABLE! The most iconic designs have been redesigned for the mini Aquazzura girl just in time for spring 17'. The mini range will be sold at the brand’s own flagship, as well as at international retailers including Barneys New York, Bergdorf Goodman, Neiman Marcus, Saks Fifth Avenue, Selfridges, Harrods, Harvey Nichols, Wynn Las Vegas, Luisa Via Roma, La Rinascente and Level Shoe District

DIY - Frayed Hem Jeans

I 've be been obsessed with frayed hem jeans for a little while now and have been waiting to do a tutorial on them when I finally decided which jeans were going to make the cut (excuse the pun). I bought this pair from Zara in India when I went 2 years back, - they were in the sale (obvs) and since I'm not keen on the length of them I decided they would be perfect to fray. So here you go - a little DIY on how to fray your own pair of jeans!

What you need:

Jeans

Ball point of dress makers chalk (whatever you have available to you)

Scissors

Unpicker

Using the scissors make a snip up the inside seam of the leg to the length of how long you would like the frayed section to be. Turn the jeans inside out and with a pen mark a line along the width of the leg from the end of your cut. This is your guide to make sure you don't end up getting to carried away with the fraying.

Using the scissors cut the original hems off the bottom of the jeans. Once these are removed you are ready to start fraying. Using the unpicker start pulling away the white fibre strands (if you have regular standard denim jeans - the blue type). As you start pulling away the strands you may find you can pull the strands clean away from the rest of the jean. Carry on doing this until you reach the pen mark you drew in as your guide.

I suppose they speak for themselves, they're just so effortless and sexy that wearing them with just about anything will make you look good. They seem to be the shoe of choice at the moment (even though they were released over a year ago) with all the celebs gracing the red carpets, awards ceremonies and Christmas events. Now they aren't cheap, at £730 BUT if you were looking for a way to justify your self for buying them in one word - classic. The shoe will never go out of fashion and I'm sure will easily become a wardrobe staple. Aptly named after Rihanna the lady who might possibly have them in all the colours available, wears them so well - its no wonder they were named after her! With the likes of Chrissy Tiegen, Kelly Rowland, Rita Ora and Kendall Jenner wearing them they just have to be winners. So here they are; prepare to drool!

Trend Alert : Satin Shoes

I know what your thinking...Satin Shoes?! aren't they like sooo 30 years ago and only for weddings? I BEG TO DIFFER this season since the launch of Manolo Blahniks satin beauties with designer label Vetements. The trend seems to be having traction especially with the high end brands and I'm sure will soon be on the shop floors of most high street stores perfectly in time for the Christmas festivities.
