Vogue - The Shoe

The holy fashion bible has released an awesome new coffee table book 'Vogue - The Shoe'. The reason I'm excited? - they will have the BEST of the best archive known to man an archive to be more than envious of regarding famous imagery of shoes, designers, campaigns and illustrations - this will be an absolute must have for shoe lovers around the world. Vogue had great success with their previous tomes on 'The Gown', 'The Jewellery', and the 'Portfolio' so this is bound to be huge bestseller for them too - especially since accessories are definitely having their moment and demand just as much acknowledgment as the clothing on runways. At £75 its not a book you buy on a whim but would definitely be a great present, for birthdays, Christmas (I know its early but good to get started) and possibly leaving gifts - available to buy now!

Tassel High Heels, just for me :)

I bought this piece of leather a couple months back, you can see why I absolutely adore it, I've been making lots of accessories from it but haven't yet made a pair of shoes with it so figured now would be the right time to get my high heel sandal game on! I wanted the front straps to be quirky and the tassels baby blue to compliment the design. So far I have got to the point of covering the insole boards, and cutting the patterns out of the leather I have chosen. I have yet to go to London Trimmings, my favourite fittings store to buy the lace and hardware I need to complete the shoe. The tassels will be made from leather that match either the insole board or the heels. (I haven't quite decided yet) The following pictures are showing my initial process, of designing, shaping the insole boards (adding foam for comfort too) and working out what leathers compliment each other. Im hoping by Fridays post they will be ready to wear! (Fingers Crossed)

Mini Miss KG

Forgive me for the lateness of this post, since the Mini Miss KG collection was released 3 weeks ago and I haven't posted about it! After the birth of my cute little niece about a year and a half ago I have been obsessed with baby shoes, especially the Sophia Webster range. It made me think that apart from the Sophia Webster collection there aren't any high street competitors with uber fashionable footwear for kids. That was until Kurt Geiger. The range has key trends from the last few seasons that have taken the fashion world by storm such as the Fendi fur face bag and the Chanel espadrille silhouette as styles. Ranging from £50 - £65 they are pretty reasonable (in comparison to the Sophia Webster range) and the collection has sneakers and summer sandals. Definitely worth having a peruse.

Inspo for Shoe Clip DIY

I have been promising to do this post for ages now and I thought what better way to do it then using Pinterest...My name is Kiren Modi and I'm addicted to pinterest! I started using it around 5 years ago and then it was more of a place to get cool ideas down to remember them so I could go home and show my family all the great things I had seen. Now days I use it as place for inspiration and since starting up my new brand I find my self constantly searching for new things to look at. I have started using new boards for all the new projects I'm thinking of doing this year. Shoe Clips is one of them. So today I leave you with some inspiration. Comment below this post by mentioning the ones you like (or if you have any other ideas on what you would like to see as a shoe clip) and I can set about getting a DIY post ready for you!

Aminah Abdul Jillil

I have been eagerly awaiting the Jillil shoe collection ever since she became renowned for her Bow Pumps; practically every one in fashion wanted a pair and they were on every girls wish list. I first set eyes on them when Aimee Song paired the red Bow Pumps up with a beautiful Red Valentino dress that was just gorgeous! I can imagine the next collection will be just as show stopping as her debut - I cannot wait!
